Kevin J. Bowman - a pilgrim trying to be the hands and feet of Jesus

About Us

The Bowmans

After 10 years of marriage my wife and I were attempting to decide one day what we could do to add more excitement into our family. Ok, so that's not true at all. Well at least not most of it. In fact we have been married for 10 years. It has been an amazing 10 years filled with love and adventure. In this time we have been blessed by God to have three children. I have worked in both the church and secular world. We have volunteered in a variety of ministry contexts. Our cup has been abundant, and our friendship with each other has been unwavering. To say we have been blessed is an understatement.

Despite his constant prescence in our lives over the entire course of marriage, in recent months God has placed a calling on our lives to enter a new season of work in His Kingdom. This process began as a movement in Christi's heart and was confirmed to us through diligent seeking of the Lord's will. So now we are transitioning from this previous experience into the new challenges of mission work.

Kevin J. Bowman

Kevin has a degree in Liberal Arts from York College, in York NE. After spending 4 years in fulltime in youth and children's ministry work Kevin left full time church employment to work in the IT arena. For the past seven years Kevin has worked as a network administrator and Coldfusion developer for Service Drywall and Decorating, a residential and commerical construction subcontractor. In these years Kevin has remianed closely connected to the world of youth and children's ministry by leadership in the camping sessions at Rockford Christian Camp, and additional participation in local and national youth ministry events. Currently Kevin serves as the ministry leader of benevolent ministries at Cardinal Drive Church of Christ. These Cardinal Drive ministries include our work at Arlington Race Track to reach out to the families of the migrant workers, and also working alongside Mission USA in their Bridge program serving as a host team quarterly.

Kevin is overwhelmed by how amazingly God has forged his skills and passions together throughout his life to prepare him exactly for this calling.

Christi L. Bowman

Christi is a stay at home mom to the 3 amazing children God has placed into her care. Although at times she feels quite inadequate about the task that lies ahead of her in the mission field, she is confident in her own gifts and passions being used to work redemption in the lives of these precious orphans. Christi will be working both in the home as educator and mother, but also among the Swazi moms to be a source of strength and discipling to their ministry in the orphan pods. Our Children

Our oldest child is the prayer warrior of the family. She being the only one of the children really old enough to "get" what's going on challenges us regularly about life in Africa as it differs from life here in the states. She is most excited about getting to do Home School, and the oppurtunity to make many friends with the children of the orphan village.

Our middle child, the three year old is most excited about meeting up with Diego and riding an elephant together while they sing "Jambo, From Africa!"

Our youngest child is our boy, he is just around two and spends most his days with his mom attempting to teach him that temper tantrums and whining will not get you your way.
